As if I could love KUT any more

Lunchtime music! It's not packaged as such, but all week I've been catching food-related songs during my midday break. Something about the process of a DJ selecting tunes to eat by really tickles me. Boy, I love radio.

A taste:

She's Puttin' Something in My Food — Bobby "Blue" Bland

Everybody Eats When They Come to My House — Cab Calloway

The Whole Tzimmies — David "Fathead" Newman

You guys have any favorite meal-time music?

  1. I just volunteered at Central Market Cooking School for a class put on by the Beat Divas. The Beat Divas are a trio of ladies who sing fun but hokey songs about food and cooking with lots of double entendres. If you haven't already, you should check them out. They're out and about in Austin pretty regularly.

  2. Shelley — I found a video of them singing and keeping the beat with salad tongs. Pretty funny!
